Home Sweet Home
Well, almost...we're settling into Portland life now, and it's hard to believe it's been over a month! Here are some quick updates.
*Today our first visitor arrived, Geoff's sister Jennifer, followed by the newly engaged Tim Chang, Geoff's bro. It will be a nice excuse to enjoy time with them in the city.
*Church friends here helped us find bikes. The city has a huge bike "culture", so driving is really different. So far, we're leaving Jubilee with eager babysitters when we go, but hopefully she can ride along soon.
*While summer weather was still here, we spent afternoons at Canon Beach and Lake Trillium near Mt. Hood respectively. It's great to be ~1 hr. from each.
*Geoff's work has begun in full force. He begins this week teaching Sunday School classes here and is in charge of rolling out the new curriculum. He'll be preaching in Nov. (right after a visit from Dad and Mom Naus). That's a surprise, as he was thinking he'd have to wait until the spring.
Jubilee's News:
*I can suck both thumbs, calm myself, and fall asleep as long as I have access to the right one.
*I'm starting to like the feel of Baby Bear's soft blanket and face.
*I mimmick Mommy when she reads me Aunt Sherry's ABC book. (I try to touch it myself.)
*I'm practicing my laugh.
*I'm a gentle soul, as Daddy says. Don't play too rough with me!
*I like to talk to Daddy when he comes home from work and he sits me on his stomach or chest.
*I like pat-i-cake and especially the eye winker, tom tinker rhyme when Mommy touches her face with my hands.
*I have loooong lashes:)
*I'm a big 14 lbs and wearing size 3-6 in some things!
